Vietnam plans to exempt Cambodian products from paying import taxes
Cambodian products sold at Vietnam's Tinh Bien Special Economic Zone in An Giang province will receive a three-year tax exemption. The tax exemption is aimed at pushing a two-way trades between the two countries to reach $2 billion annually by 2010.
Mr. Lam Minh Chiv, president of the Vietnamese People's Committee of An Giang province, said the Special Economic Zone will help in the increase of import-export activities between the two countries. He said the two-way trades between the two countries will reach $2 billion annually in 2010.
Mr. Mao Tharo, Cambodia's Secretary of State of Ministry of Commerce, said special economic zone developers in Cambodia should exchange their experiences with Vietnamese special economic zone developers instead of spending money and their times exchanging their experiences with European countries.
Currently, Cambodia has 10 special economic zones (SEZ) and 6 of the 10 SEZs is still under constructions.
