Cambodia's Foreign Minister Hor Namhong (L) speaks next to Thailand's Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya during a news conference after a bilateral meeting in Bangkok August 5, 2009. Both sides said they would solve differences on border areas with diplomacy and in a friendly manner.

Foreign Minister Hor Namhong told reporters before leaving for Bangkok for border talks with the Thai foreign minister that he will tell his Thai counterpart not to link Preah Vihear temple to border disputes between the two countries. He said Preah Vihear and border disputes are two separate issues.

The foreign minister said he still hope the border disputes with Thailand will be resolved, without elaborating when he believes they will end.

The minister said his main mission to Bangkok will be to discuss about the works of the Joint Border Commission, but added that other issues such as economic and cultural cooperation as well as other border issues will also be discussed.

He said he hopes that Cambodia and Thailand can also finalise a prisoner exchange agreement between the two countries during the talks.
