Thaksin beats Abhisit in popularity: survey
An opinion survey has found that former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra enjoys slightly higher popularity than Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The survey carried out by Assumption University found that Thaksin has 34 per cent popular rating while Abhisit has 32.9 per cent.
The survey was carried out amng 4,079 families in 17 provinces, including Bangkok, Tak, Chon Buri and Songkhla. It was carried out from July 20 to 25.
Dr Noppadol Kannikar, head of the university's opinion survey office, said the ratings were not different in term of statistics because of the 5-per cent error margin.
